Philip McDermott

Originally from Birmingham, Philip graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) with Merit from Cardiff Dental School in 1997. Having worked in several practices, he has focused exclusively on private dentistry since 2002.

Philip has extensive experience in general dentistry, with a particular passion for cosmetic dentistry, including smile makeovers, veneers, crowns, cosmetic teeth straightening, bite correction and dental implants. He is committed to preventative, minimally invasive dentistry and uses modern techniques and technology to support long-term oral health. His approach centres on understanding each patient’s individual needs and goals, building a partnership to achieve healthy, confident and lasting smiles.

Dedicated to continual professional development, Philip has undertaken advanced cosmetic dentistry training across the UK, Europe and the USA. He is currently undertaking further training at the internationally renowned Kois Centre in Seattle. He is a member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD), the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and the European Society of Aesthetic Orthodontics (ESAO), as well as an active member of the Crown Council. He also supports the annual Smiles for Life campaign, helping raise funds for children’s charities through teeth whitening.

Outside dentistry, Philip enjoys swimming, racket sports, golf and reading historical and crime fiction.
